Dedicated to the memory of the late Mr. David Owusu

This site is a tribute to our late brother, father, uncle and husband - Mr. David Owusu. His memory will always live on through his family and those who he inspired. He is very much loved and will always be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father, caring grand father, dedicated uncle, wise mentor and a great friend. On Wednesday, 4th March 2020, our beloved father Mr. David Kwadwo Owusu passed away peacefully aged 74 at Reading hospital, Berkshire.

David Owusu was born on 10 September 1947 in Accra, Ghana to the late Mr. John Owusu- Mensah and Martha Owusu.  He was born a twin to his sister Dorothy Owusu.

He started school at Adabraka Methodist primary School, Accra in 1951. He later attended Handson road middle school in Accra.  He successfully passed his common entrance examination and commenced his secondary school education at Opoku Ware School in Kumasi (OWASS) in 1964.  At Opoku Ware School he played football for both the house and school teams. He was also a cadet and team leader. He took his General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level examination in 1967, which he passed with flying colours.  

David attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi in October 1970 and studied Fine Arts. He won a prestigious award in an art competition organized by the Hungarian government for Schools and Colleges in Africa. Later that year David left Ghana to travel to the United Kingdom briefly before arriving in Hamburg, Germany to pursue his career working with the German consulent for Ghana.

In 1972, David married his long time sweetheart Constance Vida Sencherey and they settled in Hamburg for a couple of years before relocating to Slough in 1974. In 1976, David and Constance welcomed their first son Lloyd and later daughters Lesley in 1978, Sandra in 1981 and Davinah in 1993.

During his professional career David worked as a teacher, printer, cashier and a successful businessman. David was a loving husband and dedicated father who enjoyed gardening, decorating, cooking, ironing and self-grooming. He loved socializing and spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren.  He was a charming, funny and generous man. He had an infectious smile and a compassionate spirit.

David will be greatly missed by all those he touched and inspired during his lifetime.
